As an international student in the UK you are generally required to complete a one-year foundation programme which is a bridging course between international school systems and the UK system. It is designed to equip students with the appropriate study and language skills for a UK undergraduate degree.
An alternative may be available for you.
If you are a successful student with commendable academic and English language levels, you would be a suitable applicant for the International Year One programme (IYO). Like the foundation course, this is designed to prepare the student for their undergraduate degree but rather than be an additional year of study undertaken before the first year, it is considered as equivalent to the first year of the undergraduate degree.
The IYO combine degree-specific modules, study skills and language support. During the course, you will receive tutorial support to ensure you are on track to succeeding in your degree.
- SAVE ONE YEAR and graduate in 3 years
- PROGRESS IMMEDIATELY to year two of your undergraduate year
- SAVE MONEY otherwise spent on an additional year of tuition and living expenses
- CONSIDER YOUR OPTIONS with a growing number of programmes available as IYO prove to be a successful tool
